Onze Max is op het moment bij het World Economic Forum in Davos Zwitserland. Hier maakt hij deel uit maakt van het ‘Crossroads Team’ die het event ‘A Day in the Life of a Refugee’ (http://refugee-run.org/) organiseert.
Bij dit event kan je voor 45 minuten in de schoenen van een vluchteling staan. In die 45 minuten maak je mee hoe het is om je thuis te moeten ontvluchten, geen contact te kunnen hebben met geliefden, geen goede voorzieningen tot je beschikking hebt, hoe het is om met trafficking en corruptie te maken te krijgen, maar ook hoe de asiel procedure verloopt.
Zo hoopt dit Crossroads team met dit event mensen zich nog meer bewust te maken van de situatie van de vluchtelingen.
Het Crossroads Team bestaat uit mensen die allemaal veel ervaring hebben in de humanitaire sector en/of zelf gevlucht zijn om verschillende redenen en delen zo hun persoonlijke ervaringen.

At this event you can experience in 45 minutes what it is like to be a refugee. From being forced to flee your home and becoming displaced to having to deal with corruption and human trafficking to not having any recourses or access to facilities to not being able to contact your loved ones. It also shows you how the entire asylum procedure works.
With this event the Crossroads Team hopes to create more awareness regarding the refugee crisis.
The Crossroads Team exists of people who have an incredible amount of experience in humanitarian aid and/or were displaced themselves once due to various reasons and can tell the story from first hand experience.
